LION RESCUE . _ The dramatic moment a critically endangered Asiatic lion was rescued from a 60ft well he fell into while straying into a village in search of food has been caught on video. The eight-year-old lion was distressed after being stuck in the well for over an hour. _ Villagers and forest officials in Amrapur in Gujarat, India desperately worked to save the animal from drowning. The lion can be seen treading water and also trying to get stability on a small bed that had been lowered in as rescuers tried to hoist him up with ropes. _ The lion was rescued, kept overnight for observation and then safely released back into the wild. Many locals in the village have since been helped by the forest department to build parapets around their wells to prevent lion deaths. _ Caption @a_lallie Video #Repost @dp4k.m via @nature.lux
